Chill at Chili's.

Yesterday was my last workshop for this exam sitting. The presentation went well. They said it is a good presentation and we feel so great. Some groups got comments due to less discussion on pros and cons on certain issue. But it is not to say theirs are bad but our facilitators' expectation went a little higher.

I thought of going to Hilton KL Sentral coz I heard CNblue stay there. Who knows I might get a glimpse of them? But the excitement of ending workshop well made me forget about it. Anyway, they might have left earlier to get ready for their concert at 7.40 pm yesterday. 

And since I have already planned with my handsome nephews and lovely nieces to chill out at Chili's, I have to dash home. There, Wawan had a second round of birthday celebration.

Ramadhan the 11th

Yeay! I am done with the 3rd workshop for both papers. It was such a relief because we have our assignment due during this class and as usual, quiz. The individual assignments for both courses were submitted on time. Of course, in order to do that. I have to skip first half of the classes. I ended up blank for 3rd quiz for AFAR class. But for audit, a little bit better because unlike AFAR class, I spent 2 weeks to research and find the materials for assignment. And last week, I started to write and edit the assignment. In the morning, I need to tidy up a little bit for the footnotes and references.

Actually AFAR is much easier coz no research needed to be done, only must know the subject matter. It was only statement of cash flow and financial position which I am sure not only chartered accountants can do it in flash, other accountants also can do it. But I chose to do it in the morning. And as some of you guessed it right, I did not get it balanced by noon. Same as for my indirect cash flow but since I know the right balanced figure, I just slot it the balancing figure for both. I have to go to the workshop already.

So, now, we have about 3 weeks before our 4th workshop. We have to submit our group assignment and do presentation. I am cool about the presentation.....if only we are well-prepared with our assignment. Hahaha! Then, rest for another 3 or 4 weeks before the D-day. 

Since the workshop is over and no more cramped weekend schedule (for a short while), I visited my uncle's place in AU3 after the class ended. I had my iftar there. It has been some times since I tasted my auntie's cooking. Bestnya. I used to stay there, my apartment was on 12th floor and my auntie was on 6th floor. Anytime boleh singgah. Driving from Brickfields to AU3 brought back memories. I was young then. People say still in my "hey day". Feel a little bit sad though when it reminded me of bad things. But if it didn't turn out that way, I won't be what I am today, right.

By 9 pm, I made my way home. My nieces stay there but I told myself no. Nowadays, I will feel drowsy if driving after 10 pm. But as I was paid for drink at Giant Setiawangsa, I got call from her. So, we went for supper at Delicious, Duo Residence, Jalan Tun Razak. Knowing nothing nothing about this plan, if not I will spare some space in my stomach. So, we shared spaghetti, cheesecake and coffee. 

We settled for Olio Spaghetti. Okay.

For unwind after office hour or for nice western dinner, it is a nice place to go. You can enjoy the food as listening to the singer. She is good. Thanks to my niece who treat me for my belated birthday...hahaha. Farah said old person does not celebrate birthday anymore. Mmmmm, shall I present her with lamp shade on her birthday? I am thinking.

Weekend full of food outing

Sudah kenyang makan nasi lemak, we moved to One utama. The original plan ws to go to gym, then watched movie (since I got two free movie tickets) and then shopping. I invited my niece Farah but she already had plan with my sister.

But we started late and the movie at 11.45 am, we wandered around first. Then, Wawan requested to have snack at Sushi Q. But I was surprised to know that Sushi Q is not same as Sushi King. All this while, I just passed the place without glancing at its offering. I like the food arrangement, the way they decorate the food, so beautiful and made it more appealing. But I was so full with nasi lemak. Just have a bite to taste and it is so yummy. Psst, during weekday, I went there to grab 2/3 pieces of Sushi.

No need for me to say anything, pictures say a thousand word. Then we rushed to watch movie, Whitehouse Down. No wonder it is number one, the movie is full of action and funny.

After movie, we pit-stopped at TGIF to enjoy its buffalo wings. Going out with Wawan, what do you expect. It must be food, food, food...but he used his own money. What to do. the auntie is poor.

Best Nasi Lemak in Taman Tun Dr Ismail.

Last weekend before puasa, I fetched my nephew, Wawan from my sister's place. Just wanted to have fun day with him and brought him to one of my favorite nasi lemak stall. Once, I did mention about this stall which was in the alley next to Standard Chartered building, Jalan Burhanuddin Helmi, Taman Tun Dr Ismail.

Then, for 4 months, the stall was no longer there. I have been wondering what happened to the stall owner? Is he sick or move elsewhere?

Last two weeks, I went to Hong Leong bank. It was early in the morning. After completed transaction, I thought of buying nasi lemak for my breakfast. The moment he opened the lid of his rendang, I can smell the familiar rendang. But the seller is not the same person. Anyway, I asked whether it is the same owner. Turmed out yes and the owner has taken up space in Restoran Putik Pauh. But they opened another stall beside Hong Leong Bank which was managed by his older brother.

The stall owner has shifted his business inside Restoran Putik Pauh. Oh yeah, he is in morning session.

So, Wawan and me had our breakfast at Putik Pauh. But I feel bad after making Wawan took rendang daging instead of gulai ayam. I just found out that Wawan not really fancy rendang. Luckily, he took another dish, sambal kerang and I also tookt extra dishes beside rendang, sambal sotong and paru goreng. So, we share it with our nasi lemak. Nasi lemak also cooked nicely, you can taste the coconut milk.

Variety of dishes to go with nasi lemak. But rendang is like their signature food. they also have pulut kuning, mee goreng and bihun goreng.

Oh yeah, my colleagues asked me to draw map. So easy, Putik Pauh is located along Jalan Burhanuddin Helmi. Its building next to Seven Eleven, I guess so.

As for the stall next to Hong Leong Bank, here is the simple map. After fasting month, let's have our nasi lemak there again.

Dinner at Hokaiddo Ichiba

At first, when they mentioned we are going to have dinner at Hokaido, this restaurant next to Hotel Vistana crossed my mind. Also named Hokaido, the seafood that they served is delicious and fresh. Not only seafood, their pineapple chicken is superb. Unlike Hokaiddo Ichiban which served Japanese food, this restaurant served Chinese food. The only similarity, both of them served liqour, so no halal status but they rest assured other ingredients and the food preparation is halal. Only if they put wine inside, so you have to ask first before you order. Anyway if you are was-was, don't go.

So, here we are at Hokaiddo Ichiba, having great dinner and the manager is friendly. Oh yeah, since we complained about salty and over sweet dishes (two dishes), we got 2 scoop of icecream free.

After waiting, finally the tea arrived.

and my first order arrived, chuka lidako. I always love this dish.

followed by edarmame. PG likes this, me too. Actually PG yang introduce masa dia belanja aku  makan kat Sushi King dulu. Before tu, kalau makan di sana,ambil sushi aja. My colleagues yang cuba makan pun suka. Some of them said it tastes like kacang bulu.

Followed by kaki fry or oyster. Fresh..yummy.


This is for my vegetarian colleagues. Salad and egg. My friend said the egg cake resemble one traditional food. Yes, it is Sekaya but sekaya is sweeter and creamier coz it has coconut milk. And  if you add caramel to that cake, it will taste like Caramel Pudding, right.

Finally we finished everything. Actually there was another order for me, salmon skin but I am too tired as a result of overeating, so not in the mood to take photo. But the mood to eat still on. Oh yeah, I prefer salmon skin at Shogun than here. Over there, it is more crunchy and they cut it to smaller pieces compared to here. 

Anyway, eating out won't be complete without dessert, right. So we had ice cream, mostly took 2 scoops of ice cream. Well, black sesame and Hokaido Melon taste good amongst the flavor that I try.

Well, it was a successful dinner. Everyone was happy plus two free scoops of icecream compliments from the management. One thing not done is the conclusion of our department trip. Thank you to the beloved company for sponsoring this dinner. More budget next round, hopefully.....hahahaha.

Restoran Abdul Briyani Power Batu Pahat

Tengahari tadi kawan aku belanja aku makan di sini. Memang bestlah nasi dia. Portion nasi dan laukpun banyak. Ada briyani ayam, daging dan kambing.

Aku order briyani daging dan kawan aku order briyani kambing. Aku memang tak makan kambing. Lamb choppun aku tak makan. Presentation tu biasa aja, tak kisahlah beb, janji lazat. Kedai aku makan ni tak fancy sangat, warung aja. Tapi siapa kisah kalau nampak kedai tu okaylah, tak kotor, cuma tak ada aircond aja dan janji masakan best.

Khabarnya ada cawangan restoran satu lagi di kawasan berdekatan. Yang ini ada aircondlah. Oh ya, kedai ini terletak di Bukit Rahman Putra, belakang The Store aja. Harganya? Aku agak berpatutan, member belanja, seganlah nak tanya hargakan.

Celebration Hour

Malam Jumaat lepas, kami makan di restoran Groupbase di Bandar Sri Damansara. Alamatnya No 7&8, Jalan Tanjung SD13/2, contact no 03-62721184. Groupbase juga menyediakan perkhidmatan katering yang lengkap dengan pelayannya.

Kat sini, anda boleh juga memesan ala carte atau hidangan. Malam tu, kami memilih beberapa hidangan.

Servisnya okay dan makanan sedap dan harga berpatutan. Small size dia ni bukan macam small size di restoran lain. Besar portion small sizenya. Cuma butter cream chicken tu sepatutnya kami tukar dengan menu lain. Terasa berkrim sangat kalau nak dimakan dengan nasi. Satay dagingnya memang best giler. Kami tak dapat nak habiskan semua, so tapau lebihnya. Nasib baik tak order ikan. Kalau tak, memang pecah perut kami.

Cafe Beriyani Gam

Patutnya entri ini buat lama dah tetapi aku letih hari tu. Terus terlupa pasal ni. Standardlah tu. Bila alihkan gambar dari hanfon ke lappy, barulah perasan.

Aku nak share salah satu kedai nasi beriyani gam yang aku suka. Bukan suka, cukup-cukup suka. Namun susahlah sikit sebab jauh tempatnya. Aku lupa highway apa tetapi kalau ke hospital Serdang, akan nampak signboardnya. Kedainya terlindung dibelakang pokok-pokok di tepi highway.

Hari tu kamikan pergi Hospital Serdang. otw, ternampaklah signboard ni. Tidak jauh dari Uniten. Kakak aku bersungut, "lamanya tak makan. Jom singgah selepas ni." Memang betuk seperti katanya. Kami ni pergi melawat orang sakit, kelak kami yang tak sihat sebab asyik melantak. Macam masa nilah, dah kenyang tapi nak juga rasa. Lagipun, bukan senang nak datang lagi.

Rehat di Zam-Zam Restaurant

Sepanjang pagi ni, kerja aku menyambung tidur aja. Penat balik lambat semalam. Pukul 1 pagi baru sampai di rumah. Mesti guard ni kata, kakak tu, asal keluar aja, mesti balik lewat malam. Bukannya merayau mana-manapun, cuma rumah pak cik atau kuar makan-makan dengan sedara. 

Bangun, jenguk-jenguk dapur sat. Buka tv, terpejam mata. Bangun lagi dan tertidur. Begitulah aku. Bosan tetapi malas nak memandu kuar. Tiba-tiba talipon berbunyi. Rupa-rupanya kakak aku. Dia beritahu nak ke Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman. Dah jadi tempat favorite dia. Kakak aku ni suka letak manik di baju-baju dia. Dia suka pergi kedai sini, katanya berkualiti. Kedainya terletak dalam bangunan bersebelahan frenz hotel.

Sementara menunggu, kakak aku belanja minum-minum di Zam-Zam Restaurant. Minum-minum ni termasuklah order makanan juga. Thank you sis.

Jon singgah makan di Ikea

Balik dari IJN, kami singgah di Ikea sebab anak saudara aku tu nak makan di sana. KL ni ada banyak tempat makan best-best samada western or seafood or Malay yang mana tidak ada di Terengganu. But in Terengganu, you can find other nice eateries too. Cuma mahu cuba yang enggak ada di sana. Ikea restaurant  ni sediakan Swedish dishes.

Kami pergilah ke sana. Yang aku suka ialah the big portion at reasonable price with refillable soda drinks. Seronoklah. Kami order 5 plates of chicken chop, 3 plates of 20 pieces meatball and 2 plates of poached salmon with chives. Wawan ambil satu brownies. Harga murah betul. Cuma bila musin cuti sekolah ini, meja susah nak dicari dan panjanglah queue. Sementara tunggu dorang queue, sempatlah aku pergi solat. Balik solat tu, dorang masih beratur. Anyway taklah sampai setengah jam. The system is good.

Makanan banyak tetapi kami cuma 7 orang : 5 adults dan 2 kids. My dear angel, Ain tak habispun her chicken chop which I knew sebab banyak kali aku bawa dia keluar makan but both princess and Ain cuma nak main-main sahaja, makan itu secondary. Sedaya upaya kami cuba habiskan, at the end, kami cuci paper glass dan put leftover meatballs and fries inside. Surprise, Wawan said he is full. Tak heranpun. Apa taknya, he grabbed 2 packets of sandwich masa di IJN dan habiskan by himself plus 1 packet (5 pieces) of putu bambu.

Best Putu Bambu

Kami terjumpa semasa hendak ke IJN. Bisan dengan Jalan TunRazak yang jam di kala menuju ke IJN, kami tukar route dan melalui lorong di sebelah Medan Raja Muda Musa (Kampung Baru berdekatan HKL).

Cuba putu bambu ni, terus addicted. Cepat habis, ada masa kami datang pukul 5 lebih, sudah tak ada. My sister kata lawat orang sakit tetapi kita pula bertambah "sihat". Yalah, duk tibai nasi lemak CT Gardenlah, putu bambu, semua yang gunakan kelapa as base dan manis(putu bambulah, bukan nasi lemak(. Itupun aku kata tak cukup manisan dalam putu bambu ini. However this putu berbeza kerana warna hijau, bukan warna putih. Tak kisahlah. Rasanya a little bit lain but tasty. Thumbs up. Dua-dua thumbs.
